Real Cozy Like

That Midge... she really knows how to push Moose's buttons! A panel redux from an unknown Archie Comic (If anyone knows the exact source, please let me know!)

Midge Jughead

Fantastic Reflexts

Reed Richards tests Sue Storm's reflexes. Based on a Jack Kirby FANTASTIC FOUR panel. Duh.

Not Donna

A pinup / portrait based on a photo of Playboy Magazine 1960s model, Donna Michelle. You can't really tell from the scan, but this is a black light piece (available along with other original art on the ToughGuyGoods Etsy page).

What a Beautiful Gory Layout!

One of the greatest PEANUTS panels of all time, this is a recreation of a Charles Schulz Sunday PEANUTS panel from 1952. NINETEEN FIFTY-TWO! I did do a little tweaking on this one, compared to the original, I added some comic book titles that were repeats (there were a handful of KILL and MURDER Comics, to name a few). I also changed the signage at the top of the rack from "For the kiddies" to "Hey! Kiddies!" to ape the classic, "HEY!! KIDS COMICS," the punctuation of which always makes me scratch my head.

Linus and Charlie Brown panels redux

Two more PEANUTS panel recreations, Linus in the sincere pumpkin patch (background color obviously inspired by 1966's IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN!), and Charlie Brown experiencing one of his frequent bouts of existential angst. These panels are so much fun to do.

Another comic strip panel redux (or #POOC, as I like to call them), this one of course from Al Capp's LI'L ABNER. Geez, he sure did draw purty ladies.

More Spidey Cover Recreations!

Three more Spider-Man cover recreations! THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #26 (July 1965) originally by Steve Ditko; THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #82 (March 1970) by Marie Severin & John Romita (man, was this a detailed redraw!!) and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #5 (1968) by John Romita. You can't tell from the picture, but that last one is a black light recreation! Whoo! Child of the '70s!

Charlie Brown BOOM!

Hey, kids, I've set up an Etsy shop for my original art and stickers (and eventually prints). Go HERE to check out the Tough Guy Goods store for items like this PEANUTS panel recreation!

Sluggo Panel Recreations

Two more Sluggo panel recreations based on classic NANCY comic strips by Ernie Bushmiller. So beautifully bizarre.

Amazing Spider-Man #101 Cover Recreation

Hope you're not sick of these Spidey cover recreations, because there's more to come! Here's a redux of Gil Kane & John Romita's cover to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #101, which introduced the character of Morbius, the living vampire! Not too much tweaking here aside from changing a few color choices on the original.

Amazing Spider-Man #101

Amazing Spider-Man #1 Cover Recreation

Another Spidey cover recreation commission, this time for the character's second appearance and first eponymous issue, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1, 1963. Aside from my usual lettering tweaks, I also changed Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko's original by showing all of the Fantastic Four manifesting their powers (the actual cover does not depict Reed Richards stretching or Sue Storm as invisible).

Almanaque de Superman e Batman Cover Recreation

Based on the cover to the Brazilian comic book, ALMANAQUE de SUPERMAN e BATMAN, 1960.
